"Disney Princess Darlings, Great fun for my little Belle" 2010-02-06

The order shipped quickly, with good notifications. The only complaint I have with the shipping process is that the dolls arrived in a box with a large blue Disney oval on the side. I didn't notice the logo and sat the box on the dining room table. The moment my 4 year old daughter walked by, she sure noticed. White lie told, box spirited away, and lesson learned, Disney loves their logo and my daughter has a great memory for them.

The Princesses all share common traits. Beautiful, very brush-able hair - my daughter can do it easily - and the hair is gorgeous, shiny, thick and longer than the doll is tall. The gowns are all beautiful and seem to be made decently. My one complaint with the dolls themselves is that they come with the tiniest little shoes that I have ever seen. Even smaller than Polly Pocket shoes! We only have three or four left out of the original six. I believe the others either fell between the carpet and the wall, or were swept up and pitched.

All the Princesses come with handy little display boxes and while made out of plastic are still stylish and sturdy. We are currently using them as containers for Barbie footware and accessories, and for all the tiny little pieces that come with dollhouses, dollhouse kitchens and the like. Another small complaint here with the display boxes. Since we are very used to ridiculous toy packaging, we mistook a display stand - needed to stand the dolls up straight in their boxes - for packaging and they ended up in the trash.

Overall, Disney Princesses are beautiful, fun dolls that my daughter plays with over and over again and I highly recommend them for preschoolers and other Princess fans

I bought one of these Ookies for my little boy when he was born, and slept with it so it would have my smell at night as the instructions said. What I soon learned, however, was that within a year my smell was not the important one; he loved the ookie just for what it was. I immediately bought another one (having made this mistake with my older daughter's blankie four years earlier!) and put them into rotation so I could wash one while the other was "loved". He wore through one and I bought another which I still have in reserve. He is now six years old, a rough and tumble boy, but if he doesn't have his ookie to "sniff" and cuddle with he has troubles sleeping. This piece of blanket wrapped around a ball seems like nothing, but if it can be safely held by babies and loved by 6-year olds, it has to be magic!

The good news is that my niece adores these dolls. The bad news is they are more anatomically "suggestive" than "correct". I got these for my niece for her third birthday because she was becoming very curious about the differences between boys' and girls' bodies. I chose these because they had the cutest faces of all the anatomically correct dolls I saw. As it turns out, they aren't much more anatomically correct than Barbie and Ken. Oh well. Horrible product. Don't waste your money. Cheap plastic bottle doesn't have a removeable top, so you have to squeeze it very hard while holding it under water to fill it. The bottle is so flimsy it split apart all the way down the seam the second time I tried to fill it for my daughter to use. Bottle also has to be squeezed harder than any toddler could manage to dispense water into doll's mouth, so I had to do it for my daughter. You also have to have the doll on the potty while giving her the bottle, as water flows out immediately AND Doll won't stay on the potty without falling off unless you hold her there, so it takes 2 adults to potty this doll.

We bought Lexie for our daughter against our best wishes as we'd had bad experiences with dolls like Amazing Amanda, etc and didn't really want another talking toy. However Lexie was a hit and worked very well.

She responds fairly well to voice commands and my daughter thinks she's very cute. Other than the "I love bling bling" song, she seems to be pretty fun and it's sometimes difficult to get her to sing (which is okay with me). My daughter made me write this review. LOL!

After returning a cheaper doll that wet immediately, I bought Emma for my 2 year old whom I was trying to potty train. As it turned out, she wasn't motivated by 'rewards' or stickers or dolls, and I had to wait until she valued training intrinsically. However, the doll is nice, with moveable limbs. She works well in the bathtub. She is hard to feed, the bottle is a little difficult to place properly in her mouth and then some of the water leaks out of her mouth. My daughter loves playing with the doll, so it has been worth it. But, the doll is small, the potty is small and both can be hard for young hands to handle. I would recommend making the doll a bit larger with a larger potty. Also, my daughter associates bottles with 'babies' and I think that a potty training doll should have a 'sippy' cup instead. It was hard convincing her that a baby with a bottle should be peeing in the potty. In general, the doll is nice as a quality toy my daughter enjoys dressing her and pushing her in the stoller. Rather expensive for just another doll to play with.

I wanted this doll for my 2 year old daughter, to help her potty train. I purchased it because I had heard that it is better than some dolls, in that it has a 'bladder', so that when the doll 'drinks', the water doesn't just run through the doll. Well...it's hard to get the doll to 'drink' in the first place--you have to really squeeze the bottle after wedging it into her mouth. And some of the water DOES leak out immediately...it sort of runs down her legs! And then you have to squeeze the doll's stomach hard to get it to 'pee' out the rest. One good thing, compared to some potty dolls, is that the doll will 'pee' on any potty, not just the one they came with (so you can put the doll on the real potty). And the doll is washable and you can purchase more clothing for the doll (they say you can even take the doll in the bath, but we haven't done that yet).

For all the small things about the doll that are annoying, I couldn't find a better potty training doll to purchase, so overall, it's a good purchase. It's a really well made doll--just needs a little tweaking for potty training, in my opinion.

This was a real disappointment. I bought the girl doll (received the boy doll) as a potty training aid for our daughter. The doll leaks as soon as you squirt the water in, so it is difficult to have your child teach the doll to pee in the potty unless you balance it on the little potty. The head was also caved in on one side.

Very dissatisfied. It is very hard to fill the bottle with water because the hole is so tiny. I thought that at least the bottle would have a screw on top. Once you fill the bottle with water (it takes several minutes to fill 1/4 of the bottle), you feed the doll, but the water runs right out not giving you enough time to show your child that the doll is peeing. And also you have to put the doll on its back in order for the water to run, when in reality the doll has to be standing to pee, just like a real boy.

I love that it is anatomically correct! Just as other reviewers said, the bottle has already broken because you have to squeeze it to get the water into the doll's mouth, but just get a good tape and tape it up and it should still work. We are still in the beginning stages of potty training so it's more of videos, letting him play with the doll and practice, but he is very intrigued! We are expecting our second son in 1.5 months and I have to say, the doll has also been a good practice in teaching our toddler to pat the baby gently, etc. A great purchase overall!

This is the sweetest doll on the market. She has a sweet little voice and giggles and will pick up her blanket and bear if handed to her and can hold them well due to magnets hidden in the fabric. She never cries if she doesn't get what she wants as the previous reviewer mentioned, and we can turn her off if we don't want to meet requests for bottles or bear. She's so sweet and realistic, I had to turn her off because MY Mothering instincts were kicking in and I couldn't ignore her and get anything done! This is actually a great interactive toy to teach a child about nurturing and responsibility, but I think it shouldn't be left in the on mode for a long time with a toddler, as you don't want to teach them to start ignoring baby's heart melting requests! Now that my daughter is almost 4, she can tell me when she wants the doll on or off, because there are times she just wants to play with it without giving it the things it wants. Overall a good toy with a bit of parental oversite and judicious use of the off switch, but I hope the manufacturer improves the arms. One of ours dislocated at the shoulder after a few months as the other reviewer's did, so now the doll can't lift the blanket all the way to play peekaboo or lift her bear with that arm. The arm dislocated while I was simply putting the doll's outfit back on for my daughter, so no rough play was involved.

I disagree with that other reveiwer. We have this doll and love her. I was just signing on to order another one for my neice. We've had ours for a year and she's still working fine and not missing body parts. I was a little worried about her arms since they seem a little delicate, and I've warned my daughter to be careful with them. She hasn't always been very careful with them (she's only 2 1/2) and I'm surprised they're still working fine. She says such cute things with such a cute voice. If she doesn't get what she wants, she will eventually sigh with some disappointment, but she never cries or anything. She is a very sweet and cute doll.

Arm broke off in a month. If you misplace one of her accesories you can't play with her because she will ask for something and keep repeating it until you give it to her or turn her off. I dont know when she's supposed to show that she recognizes her name because I didnt want to deal with her anymore. The dolls voice is very soft and hard to understand unless in a very quiet room.

We bought this for my 6 year old and she was thrilled. But after a day of listening to the repetetive talking (the baby is not interactive in any sense) and constantly changing, feeding, and cleaning (no way this stuff is non-staning- we had to use the carpet cleaner!) everyone had enought of the potty baby. Not only that but you have to buy the items because she goes through them FAST- diapers, food, drink etc... she constantly needs washed. It is a MESS!

Save you house. sanity and money on something less expensive!

I just received this doll today. Bought it for my 2 year old neice for Christmas and just had to open and test it out. It is so cute. It talks, laughs (the cutest laugh), cries, sucks it bottle (while making a sucking sound) and the eyes open and close. The blinking earrings are adorable. At least 7 different functions! The body of the doll is soft as well as the hands and feet. I did add some extra padding to the front of the doll to cushion the voice box though it really wasn't necessary. It has an on/off switch and runs on 2 AA batteries. The velcro to the battery pack on the back of the doll is very strong and makes it difficult for a child to open. It is also very light in weight. Reminds you of the baby dolls from years ago. I know my neice will just love it! Only one problem...I'm going to have a hard time giving it up!!!

I just received this doll today and immediately placed batteries (two AA) so I could "play" with it before giving it to two year old grandaughter. It appears to be sturdy yet cuddly and reminds me of "babies" I had long ago. It's the perfect size for a 2-3 year old to cuddle and is very soft. The sounds are not really clear (Mama and Dada) but, for a $20 talking doll, it's really cute. When you feed it the bottle, which must be really stuck in quite a ways, it makes cute sucking sounds. It also laughs when you push it's chest. Two to three year olds aren't the most delicate of kids, so I think this will be a hit! Can't wait to see our grandaughter's face on Christmas! I never found out what happened to the doll. Was it stolen from our doorstep (I saw this on a news show)? Was there a problem in shipping? I purchased this doll at the request of my 8 year old daughter for Xmas. This doll is a good educational tool for young girls in that it teaches them how to care and nurture their child. My daughter enjoys feeding her, needs help with the diaper changing though. It can get a little messy though with the food getting stuck inside and not coming out; you have to give her warm water and sit her on the toilet so that the food can come down and out. Every now and then, I have to remind my daughter the importance of child neglect.

Amazon briefly sold the caucassion dolls for $18.99 each. I bought one of the caucassion dolls because my granddaughter really wanted this doll but I would have preferred to purchase the Black Doll but it was six times as much. I did phone Amazon and they suggested it was the level of demand but I don't buy it.

These twins are very cute in the box. You only hear a few phrases. But then when they come out of the box, they fight a lot (don't hug her too tight, don't let her have all the food). When they are not next to each other, the sensor makes them ask for their sister so they can interact with each other. At first it says where is my sister, I want to play with you. Then it says "Am I going to have to wait here for my sister all day". Again, cute at first, but since I don't want to teach my children that a disrespectful tone is okay, I quickly became soured on these dolls.

I passed over this year's "Bye Bye Chou Chou" in favor of this doll because of the cuter face and the better size for my little girl. The batteries are even still working, we were not disappointed at all and she seems to like this doll the best of the ones she has.

There was water drops on her face and she gently wiped it dry and most of her lips and eyebrows wiped off. The doll looked scary and my daughter was reduced to tears. I called and emailed Hasbro their reply was that was expected and they would send me something for the inconvenience. It was a $3 coupon I could use if I spent $5 dollars. My Father-in-law was an Engineer for matel, he said it should have not happen. Our Daughter will not play with the doll because she is scary looking. That was a big waist of money. Our doll might have been a defect, but they did not stand behind their toy.I have not bought anything from Hasbro since.

My daughter could play with it for about an hour until we ran out of accessories and the doll was put on the shelf. I've since bought preemie diapers, but you'd think that since the whole idea of the doll is the eating and pooping, it would come with more to handle the fun.

We got this doll for our four-year old. She likes it but beware...this toy creates a DISGUSTING MESS. A green gel substance comes out of her behind after feeding it the special food (you're given four packs of food and only two diapers...hmmmm...). I had to dismantle its high chair, remove clothes, scrub the tile/grout and run water down her mouth to get this stuff out completely. Needless to say, this doll will be on an all water diet from now on.

If you can get the doll situated on the potty and squeeze the baby bottle all at the same time it sort of works the way it is supposed to. The water does not get stored in the baby to be squeezed out later. Instead, once you squeeze the bottle it goes right through the baby (timing is key here). It is also difficult and sort of messy to keep the water in the dolls mouth.

I do recommend the doll for special needs children for the visual aspect. My son who is almost 5 and has Down Syndrome, he really liked it and was able to understand how to go on the potty (once I got it to sort of work). He didn't want to sit on his potty chair/ seat before I got the doll, after I used the doll to show him what he was supposed to do he got really excited and started using his potty. He also liked just playing with it and practicing dressing the doll since the clothes are removable.

It is a good idea, but the doll needs adjustments to make it easier and less messy to use. Filling the baby bottle is also tedious and it doesn't hold much water. So all in all this item is ok for potty training, even if it is kind of difficult to use it still gets the point across.

I bought it as a gift for a 4-year-old and she loved it. She could figure out how to make it talk easier than I could. Due to research about racial impressions of young children which leads to a perpetuation of racism in our society, I would recommend the African American doll for all children. I bought it for a white child and no one made a comment about it at her large family birthday party and I never heard that there was a problem (we live in an integrated community). The coloring and hair of the doll could pass for many brown-skinned ethnicities, such as Latina/Hispanic or Native American.

I was looking for a basic doll for my 6 year old when I found this one. She already has a Baby Alive (the expensive one that requires batteries, food, diapers, etc) so I was skeptical when I saw a bunch of new Baby Alive dolls on the market. But this one is perfect - it requires nothing extra and is just a cute, plain baby doll. The little "extra" is with the baby bottle (which thankfully is attached to the dolls wrist). When you put the bottle in the dolls mouth and twist, the little feet kick up and down. Very cute.

If you're looking for an inexpensive but well made basic baby doll, this just might be it, it was for us!

Our baby loves it. She can put the pacifier in the babies mouth and also the bottle. She is scared of it when you turn the sound on. It sounds like a real baby and the motion senser is real strange. My 2 yr old son loves this doll! He saw this in a store and about turned inside out wanting to hold it. We wrapped it and put it under the tree. The worst part about it was the inability to turn it off before taking it out of the package.

But since he opened it, he has been playing with it non-stop. The good parts are the weight of it, it is pretty heavy in your arms. The pacifier is attached and it stops making noises pretty soon after putting the thing in its mouth.

The bad things are the fact that you need to push on the bottle and pacifier pretty hard to get it to stop making noises. Also, without having the toy keys and bottle attached, those won't last very long in this house.

I recommend it though, especially at the under $15 price tag. Anything above that isn't worth it.

We were secretly hoping this baby really did say "Islam is the light" as reported by others when we bought this for our 12 month old son. Sadly for us, it only babbles adorable nonsense syllables and "mama" in a sweet baby voice. My 7 year old bought this with her birthday money and is very happy with it. She says that she is "cute and little and makes noises, blows bubbles, says Mama, and she is 100% cute".

I like that the noises can be turned off, and actually the doll is turned off most of the time.

My 2 reservations about the doll were that it had a hard body, and its clothes are not easily removable.

As for the controversy about what the doll says - I had never heard this before and I have noticed nothing but giggles and coos coming out of the doll, with the exception of Mama. Not a clue what other people are talking about. Maybe they changed the doll since then.

My 4 year old saw this doll at the store and fell in love with her. She carried the baby all around the store until I managed to distract her so I could put the doll away. We bought it as a christmas gift and both daughters love this talking baby. She gurgles and coos. She has sensors in her forehead that detect movement. She'll began to "talk". When you "feed" her with her bottle or pacifer, she gets quiet. We have a variety of baby dolls at our house, but none have been as big of a hit as this one.

I must admit that I too fell in love with this toy. She has a pleasant coo, not at all irritating to listen to (unlike some other toys). It's a worthwhile toy, appealing and sure to get a lot of use at this house.

I was shocked when I read the reviews here about her vocal sounds. I had been listening to the doll for a while and did not hear anything other than a baby cooing. She has settings: vocal interaction, and non-vocal interaction, so if you are hearing things that you think shouldn't be there, you have the option to mute the sound.

The doll worked for a total of 5 minutes! I thought it was the batteries so I changed them to brand new ones. But it still didn't work properly. It didn't want to chew the food even if it said she was hungry. And the food didn't want to go down her throat. She ended up "throwing-up" rather than going to the potty. The button on her bracelet only made her make these weird gurgling sounds. Some mechanical problem I guess. Not worth it.

One of the children I babysit just got this doll. She fed her some of the green food, and didn't read the instructions that came with the food mix. The green food got stuck in her throat and mouth, and when she tried to feed her again a few hours later, she kept "spitting up." It took a half-an-hour to get the stuff out of her mouth and throat. After that, I mixed up "food" for her out of a drop of food coloring and water to avoid another clogged throat problem. Parental supervision when mixing the food would probably have averted this situation.

Between our 2 girls, we got 3 of these incredibly annoying dolls for Christmas this year. I let my oldest keep the purple one and my youngest got the pink one. I had them turned off until today when my 1 year old wanted to play with both of them, she had them near me and I could clearly hear the hidden message "islam is the light" at the end of each cooing session on our purple doll and it is clearly NOT there on our pink doll. Obviously the purple one is an older version. I'm very offended and now do not want this doll in our home, yet don't want to break our childs heart since I already took 1 back. If you insist on buying this doll please remember there is a message on some of them, I don't care what anyone says, I heard it, my husband heard it, and my mom over the phone heard it clear as day!

On another note, the doll is not that fun, she never shuts up unless you turn her off or stick something in her mouth but her binkie does not fit well and very hard to get in there. Her body and legs are hard and not fun to cuddle. I would skip this doll and try Baby Alive or something. My 1 year old prefers her and I do as well, no hidden messages heard there!

I know there are a lot of critics about the sounds this doll makes but I believe it has been taken care of by this newer "model".

My daughter's doll just gurgles and coos and occasionally says, "mama". She also blows raspberries (which my son says are "farts".)

She is small for a baby doll but perfect for a young child to haul around.

She comes with a cute outfit. The hat is sewn on so I wouldn't recommend taking it off or it will not stay in place.

She comes with a four position switch. One is for trying it out, one is for movement and sound, one is movement only and one is to turn everything off.

She is really cute in her movements and sounds (but after awhile, it does get on my nerves so we switch it to movement only!). My daughter loves playing with her and tending to her needs.

BIG NOTE: the picture shows that she comes with keys and a blanket. THIS IS NOT ACCURATE. She only comes with a pacifier and bottle. This picture must be for an earlier model.

Forget the cynical reviews, this is a good little baby doll at a good price.

I did not believe the reviews or even the videos I saw on Youtube that show this doll saying "Islam is the light". I thought they had made it up because it just seemed so ridiculous to even think Fisher Price would do such a thing. Received it today and took it out of box where it proceeded to gurgle and coo like a baby would. I smiled, thinking I had been right all along. When I put it back in the box, it then said, plain as day "Islam is the light". I got goosebumps. It was creepy as heck.

I took it out and have played it over and over. The first two times it speaks it sounds like baby talk, but halfway through the third cycle it gets clear all of a sudden and states "Islam is the light", clearly pronouncing the T and without a hint of babytalk.

I won't be giving this to my daughter for Christmas. I also won't be buying Fisher Price again.

This is one cute doll! The eyes are so pretty with those long, soft lashes. What I like best about the doll is that it operates with NO BATTERIES! You just put the bottle in the mouth and twist one way to open the eyes and the other way to shut them. This takes a few tries for a toddler to master since the slot for the bottle is oblong shaped as is the tip of the bottle, so you have to get the bottle just right in the mouth. On my daughter's doll one of the eyes stays open when you lay her down, and I can count on one hand how often she has played with this doll so I don't believe this was caused by excessive play. This is a great doll for kids who really enjoy pretend play. It is probably the most realistic doll you can find short of the Reborn dolls. It eats and poops which is not that appealing to adults who have had to change real diapers but, kids love it. There was water drops on her face and she gently wiped it dry and most of her face and eyebrows wiped off. The doll looked scary and my daughter was reduced to tears. I called and emailed Hasbro their reply was that was expected and they would send me something for the inconvenience. It was a $3 coupon I could use if I spent $5 dollars. My Father-in-law was an Engineer for matel, he said it should have not happen. Our Daughter will not play with the doll because she is scary looking. That was a big waist of money. our whole family loves this little doll. it's great for stimulating a little laughter in the room. my only problem with it is it will be hard to wash if its body gets dirty. my 9 month old daughter loves to chew on the "ears" so drool winds up on the body. it also doesn't sit up very well, so it's hard to put neatly onto a shelf. but, the personality certainly overrides the rest! it certainly gives elmo a run for his money!

My daughter picked this out when spending grandma's birthday gift last year and has enjoyed tremendously. It is one of her favorite items and she is getting to the age where dolls are not a high priority toy, so I would recommend this product to anyone who has children who enjoys dolls.

We bought our daughter this baby boy dolly (she has a little brother) to aid in her potty training. She has been potty-trained for some time, but she seemed to have taken a few steps back for a while. Instead of buying a toy that practices using the potty (which she already knows how to do and had been doing with great success for quite a while), we asked Santa to bring her her very own baby to care for.

Again, being that she has a little brother, a boy doll seemed more than appropriate. And she loves to feed him his bottle of water and watch him pee. And my son, oh he just gets crazy giggly when the baby kicks his little legs.

I hadn't really paid much attention to this doll come Christmas - with all the chaos, etc. But one afternoon, when my daughter and I were playing with him, we watched him pee. I had imagined a little trickle....more like a firehose!!!!!!! He really, really, REALLY pees!! So stand back moms (and dads)!!!

I have heard suggestions of buying a bulk-size pack of newborn or preemie diapers to replace instead of the ones made for the doll. We still have one diaper left (we've been air-drying it). But I certainly agree that is the way to go.

It's a very cute toy. And guess what?? Potty-training issues are a thing of the past...not completely sure the doll helped, but hey - it's worth a shot! Just stand back!!
